China Expansion Continues.
China continues to soak up much of the worlds manufacturing, with many major companies now out-sourcing production to China. Since admittance to the WTO, many smaller companies are now dealing with China and see it as a key and rapidly developing market for their manufacture and sales. Freightbrain International Ltd, have agency offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen & Shenzhen the latter is rapidly developing into an important gateway in the region. Together with our agents, we can offer services from the major cities and ports in China and throughout the Far East.

Import Licences.
From Jan 1st 2006, DTI surveillance Licences have been removed. This applies to many Garments and textile commodities from China and is referenced in DTI ‘notice to Importers No. 2723‘. Full Import Licences are still required for textiles & clothing subject to quota (DTI Notice to Importers No. 2724), applications are still required where appropriate, to be supported by the relevant Chinese Export Licence.

Marine Insurance.
As of 14th January 2005, Freightbrain International Ltd are now registered with the FSA to conduct Marine/Cargo Insurance as an intermediary. Our FSA registration number is 314015.

Port Congestion.
The U.K Port infrastructure continues to struggle with the volume of containers arriving, resulting in severe delays to when the Lines can effect inland deliveries. We are advising customers that they should present shipping documents to us a minimum of 48 hours prior to vessel arrival, in order for customs clearance and delivery to be arranged without incurring the burden of additional rent & demurrage charges at the Port.
